It was still early, Vegas time, and I showered after the long drive and then headed for the lagoon at the Treasure Island. There was a huge crowd waiting for the next free show and I joined it, trying to work my way up to the spot where Mary had tossed the bag into the water, but without much luck because the battle was about to start and the crew was on the deck of the pirate ship, trying to look as if they didn’t know what was coming next. The lagoon was quite large and on the side opposite the pirate ship an English man o’ war came from behind a point of land and started firing its cannons at the pirates, who jumped into action and returned the fire. The battle was loud and with lots of action, cannons smoking and masts being hit by cannon balls and falling to the deck, until at last the pirates were defeated and the battle was over, a good show considering the price.
